THE CHALLENGE

Leading company in the pharmaceutical sector present in more than 100 countries, with more than 2,000 employees in Spain and more than 90,000 globally.

It was looking to expand its sales network with junior profiles that would bring dynamism, passion and energy to the current team.

The project consisted of selecting those candidates with the potential to, in the medium term, take on the new challenges of the organisation (launch of new products, business lines...).

The challenge was to attract young people with a mixed profile: specific technical training in the pharmaceutical field + commercial profile and motivation.

Project at national level (logistical complexity of the project): vacancies distributed throughout Spain, so the attraction and evaluation was carried out in different strategic points of the country.

HOW WE HELPED

Morgan Philips undertook to carry out the complete selection process, which involved the following phases:

  • Attraction of young talent with the specific profile. Dissemination of the offer in local study centres, Industry LinkedIn Groups, Morgan Philips website...). More than 1,500 CVs were received.
  • Screening of applications received. Through the "hard profile" (degree, level of English, possibility of internship contract), a pool of potential candidates was created by geographical location.
  • Evaluation of those selected on the basis of the company's competency profile.
    • Subphase 1. Online (eliminatory). Business case + Reasoning tests.
    • Subphase 2. Face-to-face assessment (group dynamics + competency-based interview).
  • The competency reports of the finalists were sent to the client, which focused on strengths and areas for improvement. This allowed the client to focus the final interviews based on these, as well as the possibility of creating a Development Plan, once they joined the company.
  • A pool of young commercial talent was created, with the competency and motivational profile aligned with the characteristics of the company.

THE IMPACT

All planned vacancies were filled at national level, responding to the demanding deadlines set.

The keys to the success of the project were:

  • Knowledge of the sector
  • Dissemination of the offer in the media with an impact on the target group of candidates.
  • Blended methodology (on-line + face-to-face) -> increased efficiency in the process, saving logistical costs.
  • Experience in competence assessment
  • Flexibility to adapt to the specific needs and characteristics of the client.
