DESIGNING AN ASSESMENT APPROACH TO IDENTIFY THE LEADERS OF THE FUTURE

THE CHALLENGE

Morgan Philips Talent Consulting partnered with Berry BPI to develop an efficient, high-quality graduate assessment process to support their 2021 programme in-take. There was a vital need for the programme to attract, develop and retain future high potentials to strengthen the leadership pipeline and build long term capability for the commercial and operational divisions of the organisation.

HOW WE HELPED

Our solution covered the entire selection process and was driven by our digital platform. Assessment criteria defining high performance leadership was designed in collaboration with Berry BPI and mapped against our modern talent framework, t.Frame. The application stage included automated work eligibility pre-screening questions and client-led CV reviews, with the second stage consisting of a cognitive ability test and video interview questions. For both stages, client stakeholders reviewed and evaluated candidate responses ‘on-demand’ via our platform.

Short listed candidates were invited to a final stage virtual assessment centre, taking part in behavioural exercises, an interview and client session to meet senior Berry BPI members. To ensure alignment with business requirements, Morgan Philips assessors partnered with Berry BPI observers to assess candidates and draw final conclusions at the final round.

THE IMPACT

The selection process delivered an excellent candidate experience, enhanced brand perception and insightful assessment results to support the selection of high potential graduates. In addition, strength and development areas for each candidate were identified; enabling a clear focus on how to customise their leadership journeys and support successful candidates to reach their full potential – at pace.
