TAKING THE LEAD IN REMOTE ASSESSMENT

THE CHALLENGE

Morgan Philips Talent Consulting were engaged to partner with Allianz to design 1-day and 2-day assessment centres to assess executive leadership capability. The centre outcomes needed to support critical talent development, promotion and succession processes and inform critical annual talent review processes.

HOW WE HELPED

Simulations were designed to measure leadership potential and executive capability. Online psychometric assessments and behavioural exercises were delivered to explore workplace preferences, motivations and potential capability aligned to executive-level role expectations. Partnering with Allianz observers, exercises including interviews, role plays, decision makings, presentations and group exercises were assessed. Participants also received feedback and “check in” sessions throughout the day. Results were calibrated with assessor and client input, leading to the provision of comprehensive participant feedback (verbal and report) and supporting line manager discussions to position assessment outcomes, highlight strengths and indicate potential development opportunities.

THE IMPACT

Over 9 years, we have delivered face-to-face and virtual assessment centres for hundreds of participants. The centres provided a high quality participant experience, signed-off by the Worker’s Council, as well as delivered insightful assessment centre results supporting identification of leadership potential and readiness to progress to leadership roles. Participants were assessed globally using this approach, including centres delivered in Germany, UK, India, USA, Singapore and Thailand. Additionally, data gathered from the assessments were used to create online data dashboards to highlight talent pipelines, group trends and long-term competency development to inform resourcing strategies, training and development needs.

“I participated in the Morgan Philips remote individual assessment centre as an observer. It was as effective and efficient as a live assessment centre. It also provided the additional benefit of seeing how the candidates operated in a remote environment”
